Toyota intends to increase production of pickup truck Takoma

The Japanese car brand Toyota intends to significantly increase the volume of produced Toyota pickups at its plants. At the moment, the brand plant in Mexico produces about 100 thousand of Tacoma pickup trucks. After the modernization of equipment, expansion of production capacity, as well as training of personnel, the plant will produce about 160 thousand cars per a year. The world premiere of the new Toyota Tacoma took place at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2015. Pick-up received more rigid frame, moreover, the noise insulation of the model has been greatly improved.

At the moment, the brand expects that this production volume can be reached at the end of next year. Investment in the company will amount to about $ 150 million; four hundred of workers will be hired to expand production. Now the company employs about 1 100 thousand workers.

The pickup is equipped with 2.7-liter engine with 159 horsepower and a 3.5-liter V6 generating 278 hp. In all cases, the pick-up is equipped with 6-step automatic transmission.
