Toyota hits record sales

Toyota is the world’s first automaker, which has sold more than ten million vehicles in 12 months.

From March 2013 to March this year, the Japanese company sold 10.13 million units. During this period, sales grew by 4.5 per cent – largely due to the efforts of positions in the North American and Chinese markets. From January to March the Japanese sold 2.58 million vehicles, while its closest rivals -General Motors’ and Volkswagen – have implemented approximately 2.4 million vehicles. According to company president Akio Toyoda, this year should prove to be the most lucrative in the history of the brand. It is expected that revenues will be Toyota 1.9 trillion yen, equivalent to $ 18.5 billion. In turn, representatives of Volkswagen in March said that in 2014 the concern also intends to sell more than ten million cars. Germans expect to get ahead of the Japanese company and become the world’s largest automaker. “Toyota” for the second year in a row remains the leader of the world car market. In 2013, the manufacturer sold 9.98 million cars. During this same period, Volkswagen sold 9.72 million cars and concern General Motors – 9, 71 million cars.
