Toyota Camry of eight generation is already available on markets (part 2)

The eighth generation Toyota Camry has received new power equipment. Instead of 2.5 2AR-FXE with the capacities of 160 horsepower and 213 Nm there is installed the new 2.5 A25A-FXS from the Dynamic Force Engine series that is able to generate 178-hp and 221 Nm of torque. And on the contrary, the electric engine lowered the output that is equal now to 120-hp and 202 Nm instead of previous 143-hp and 270 Nm. The total output of the power unit increased from 205 horses to 211.

The A25A-FXS motor has a high thermal efficiency – 41%. There were also used direct injection and variable input phases with the VVT-iE electric phase shifter. In addition, the novelty is equipped by lithium-ion batteries instead of a nickel-metal hybrid one. Front wheel drive and CVT complete the sedan’s package.

There are known some technical characteristics. The hybrid version spends 2.99 liters per 100 km at the combined cycle JC08. The Japanese engineers say that it is the best feature in the segment among the models with 2.5-liter engines, except the hybrid ones charged from the network. For comparison, the previous model in the Japanese specification has got the average fuel consumption equal to 4.3 liters.
