The Japanese car brand Toyota has decided to postpone the debut of its rechargeable hybrid Prius Prime to the end of this year. It was announced by foreign automotive publications. The updated model is more powerful, has a modern interior and extended cruising range.

According to the news, the reason of such situation is that the brand has faced some logistical difficulties, and as a result it will not succeed to bring the required number of cars to the date of sales start. It was decided to postpone the start of sales from autumn to winter so as such situation do not affect the image of the brand.

Under the hood of the car there is a hybrid power train, which consists of a 1.8-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. The petrol engine is able to develop 97 horsepower and electric power generates 73 hp. The cruising range of the using only electric power is 35 kilometers. Inside of the new Prime will be an improved design. The first market of the new item will be its native Japan.
