For the first time in 5 years Toyota will make a profit in Europe

Japanese carmaker Toyota on the results of fiscal year 2012, ending in March 31, 2013 for the first time in the last 5 years will make a profit on the European market. According to majority of the press releases and also the official numbers fromt he company, the operating profit of Toyota in Europe for the first 9 months of fiscal year 2012 amounted to 209 million euros, which is 2.5 times more than for the same period last year.

“In 2012, in 56 European markets, Toyota sold 838,000 vehicles compared to 822,000 vehicles in 2011. Our market share has grown from 4.3 to 4.5%, “- said D.Lerua, adding that in 2013, the company’s goal – is to increase its market share in Europe to 4.7-4.8%. In turn, the executive vice president of sales and marketing for the European division of Toyota Karl Schlicht predicts that in 2013 in the European market will be sold 17 million vehicles. “Initially, I estimated the market at 17.5 million units, but now we have revised forecast in the lower side,” – he explained.
