Crossover C-HR of Toyota brand will race at the Nurburgring 24 Hours

The vehicle of such format will race at this track for the first time. Toyota Company has promised to put at the start of the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring, which will be held in May, its specially developped crossover C-HR Racing. Racing cars will be built on the basis of the C-HR concept, which debuts in Geneva. It should be noted that the competition on the North Loop of the Nürburgring have being conducted since 1970, and the crossover will be released at the start in such role here for the first time.

It is not reported yet which power train engineers of the Japanese automaker will choose for this unusual race car. It is assumed that the main contender for the place in the engine compartment of C-HR is a hybrid engine, consisting of a four-cylinder gasoline engine and electric drive.

Racing crossover will defend the colors of Toyota GAZOO Racing Team, and three racers will ride it by turn. The names of two of them are known – Masahiko Kageyama and Kumi Sato. As for the third driver, the team have not decided yet who it is going to be. The public debut of C-HR Racing, as well as its civilian concept version, will take place at the Geneva Motor Show.
