A year has passed since the much-anticipated debut of the trio of Japanese sports cars Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S has had its place. It is true to say that the product was a success. The two-door coupes are pretty amazing in their speedy performance. Though the nominal power of 200 and 205 Nm of torque, which is provided for the base model and the only versions on the market, for most of our customers is not enough.

Thanks to two-liter engine paired with a six-speed “mechanics” coupe can accelerate to the first hundred in 7.6 seconds and has a maximum speed of 230 km / h. These figures are not bad, but in comparison with the competition it is not a good performance neither. Even the “Japanese” apparently originally hoped for more efficient powertrains.

According to the GT86 project head Tetsuya Tady, we can expect the emergence of turbo and biturbo versions. In addition, it is possible that there will also be a coupe with a hybrid engine. Also, the company reported that the cars do not have to gain weight as the sports department TRD now are working on new body panels and a special body kit, allowing to achieve the most effective return rate of the units, as well as their efficiency. The timing of launching such versions is yet unknown.
