Toyota JPN Taxi cab is available in Japan
Japanese engineers spent four years to turn the concept into a pre-production prototype and then into production version. The novelty was done to be shown at the Tokyo Auto Show. The prices are also announced. Thus, Nagomi base version will cost 3,277,800 Yen, and the premium Takumi – 3,499,200 Yen. Both models have got front-wheel drive and 100-hp 1.5-liter 1NZ-FXP motor feeding by liquefied petroleum gas. The power unit is mated to an automatic transmission. The fuel consumption is five liters per 100 km along the JC08 cycle.
The taxi will be painted in three colors, but the main one will be dark blue. The customer can order the novelty with black and white body. The VIP-cab’s configuration is designed by chrome, Bi-Beam LEDs instead of halogens and vertical lights in the rear pillars. In addition, the car will get different design of the side mirrors and wheel rims replaced by caps.
Toyota did not economize on soundproofing and provided the cabin by exclusive silence. Six airbags and Toyota Safety Sense C (TSS-C) with sonar are responsible for safety. The distance between rows of seats is 1065 mm. The rear seats have the heating function. The spacious luggage compartment is equal to 401 liter according to VDA standard. The company intends to sell a thousand cars a month.
