Toyota Century of the third generation with a hybrid unit

Toyota novelties of 2018-2019 model years are complemented by the third generation Toyota Century sedan. The official debut of luxury sedan is planned within the Tokyo Motor Show, which opens the doors on October 25, 2017. The new Century’s sales will start in the middle of 2018 in Japan. The price of the hybrid model will make around 120,000-125,000 dollars.

The third generation car has got the V8 5.0 motor. The new unit is 2UR-FSE with a direct-injection of the advanced D-4S version. Moreover, Century is a hybrid car. The internal combustion engine is supplemented by THS II hybrid system that combines an electric motor with a planetary CVT and two-step transmission. The system is powered by a nickel-metal hydrid battery. The technical characteristics of the plant have not yet been disclosed, but the Toyota engineers promise the lowest fuel consumption in the segment.

The length, width, height of the new Century is 5335mm, 1930 and 1505 with the 3090 mm wheelbase. The interior has 100% woolen upholstery. The basic equipment includes Toyota Safety Sense P system. The cabin is also provided by adjustable seats with massage and footstools, a large central touch screen on the second row that let controlling climate and multimedia systems. There is an audio system with 20 speakers and active noise cancellation.
