Toyota Avalon of the fifth generation debuted in Detroit (part 2)

The new Toyota Avalon is based on the TNGA modular front-drive platform with a completely independent suspension scheme (front McPherson strut and rear multi-link), like the new generation Toyota Camry that also shared engines with the 2019 Avalon. Thus, under the hood of the novelty there is installed petrol V6 3.5 paired with 8 automatic transmission and hybrid power plant THS II for the Toyota Avalon Hybrid version. The manufacturer did not disclose the power specifications. In addition, the carmakers added Adaptive Variable Suspension as an option that is able to change the degree of damping in 20 milliseconds.
The wonderful five-seat saloon has got leather trim of the front panel and seats in black, beige, gray or cognac colors at choice. For Touring and XSE sports versions there will be proposed a combined finishing (leather and suede). On the central console there is located a large screen of a multimedia system and a sensor control unit for climate control.
The standard equipment of the Japanese sedan will be presented by a multifunctional steering, navigation, Apple CarPlay support, rear-view camera, three-zone climate control, 10 airbags, Toyota Safety Sense P, blind monitoring zones and radar cruise control. There is also Traction Control and Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and Anti-lock Braking System.
