Toyota Gains Awards

Toyota and Ford received the largest number of awards in the annual competition of the US News “The best cars for the money.” All kinds of competitions and rankings exist in the automotive world, but probably the most pretentious name was picked up by the guys from US News. They conduct an annual awards ceremony, “The best cars for the money.” This year trophies were awarded in 21 nominations, and the greatest number of them took Toyota brand along with Ford.

In a line of Ford among the best model were Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge. Another five awards grabbed Toyota and its “daughter”-brands Lexus and Scion, among the most highly ranked models were new Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry. The remaining 10 were distributed between Honda (3 awards), Buick (2 awards), as well as Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

US News experts choose the best cars, based on an assessment of a number of characteristics, such as: the cost of the vehicle and its cost of ownership over five years, the automotive media reviews, information on the reliability of the JD Power and Associates, as well as the security posture of the NHTSA and IIHS.
